He Pūkōrero te Pūrākau

 

He mana tō te tokotoko nei, he mana anō tō āna kōrero,  

Kua whakairohia ki te kupu, he mea tuku mōhiohio. 

Whātorongia tō ringa ki tōna kakau o runga rā, 

He rangahau, he ako, he mahi tahi te kaupapa. 

Whiua ō whatu ki te mata, tērā e pūkana ana. 

He mahere ako i whakaritea, nā Ako Panuku tangata. 

Arā anō he kanohi, hei whāwhā mā te ringa e, 

He akoranga i roto hai whakahihiko i a tātau e! 

 

This tokotoko has been designed to support kaiako in teaching literacy and oral language through the context of 'pūrākau'.
