Te Hue - Māra Kai: Webinar series with Dr Nick Roskruge

This webinar series is designed for those who would like to learn about the māra kai as a kaupapa for exploring the life cycle of plants. During the 45-minute webinars the following aspects will be covered:
1) Knowledge of plants, crops, soil, life cycle, including: 
- whakapapa of kamokamo, kumara, taewa, greens and hue plant/s
- relationship to soils and to other plants
- environmental needs
- the role of seeds

2)Preparation, planting, growing and storage of crops, such as:
- husbandry of the seedling through to planting
- crop husbandry from young to mature and fruiting
- harvesting and what happens next.

The series is divided into the following kaupapa:

20 October: Seeds, soil prep, planting phase
11 November: Weeding, establishment phase
25 November: Growing phase
24 February: Hauhake/Harvest phase
